  i love science and technology and we are living in a golden age right now.

  the world has changed in so many incredible ways just in the time i've been alive.. my first car was a vauxhall viva.

  it was brilliant because it was my first car and represented freedom.

  The time will come -- perhaps in the next 15 to 30 years -- when people will find even the thought of humans being behind the wheel of an automobile absolutely horrifying.

  Computers will do a FAR better job driving automobiles than humans.

  2015 Regional Conventions Baptisms

  since this is the first weekend of rcs, anyone going that can give estimates of how many are getting baptized, how many appeared about that were jw youth, and what attendance figure is at these rcs?.

  i know u.s. baptisms are declining.

  Via my informant:

  About 2000 in attendance Saturday, 5 baptized.

  My informant also advised me that two of the five looked too young to spell "baptized"

  BTW: evidently this was AMIII's "assigned" convention. He and his wife were there all three days, and both his sons handled parts.

  for example:the watchtower study edition, march 15, 2015, pages 8-10:.

  in recent years, the spiritual instruction provided by jehovahs organization has reflected an increased emphasis on simplicity and clarity.

  I don't think that institutionalized shunning -- which can be instituted/repealed with the stroke of a pen at the whim of a small group of delusional men -- can be equated with an individual's personal decision to keep toxic people out of their lives or at an arm's length.

  How long until the "Generation" gets Revised/Dropped?

  if you don't already know this; the latest revision of the insight book has no mention of the "overlapping generation" bs online library, insight book .

  obviously that change will not bee seen by the vast majority of people, so when will this "brighter light" shine through in a wt or assembly talk?

  Rumor about the Imitate Jesus Convention

  i saw a rumor a few weeks ago on reddit that the new imitate jesus convention is supposed to present new light and clarified understandings on the disfellowshipping/disassociation practices.. supposedly, if this rumor has any truth to it, there will be a talk given at the convention about how we should not be strict like the pharisees in how we shun people, loosening up some of the jw rules about this practice.. has anyone here heard anything about this or have more info on it?.
